Founder & Principal Consultant
Astine Suleimanyan is the Founder and Principal Consultant of Capitol A Strategies and a seasoned political strategist with nearly two decades of experience navigating high stakes political fights in California and across the country. Her career has been built at the intersection of campaigns, organized labor, public policy and community organizing, developing strategies that move voters, build coalitions and deliver results.
Whether lobbying in Washington, D.C. for recognition of the Armenian Genocide, advancing landmark protections and funding for healthcare workers, including legislation requiring weapons detection screening in California hospitals, or helping elect candidates who champion working families, Astine has built a career turning advocacy into action and strategy into wins.
Most recently, Astine served as Campaign Manager for California State Treasurer Fiona Ma’s campaign for Lieutenant Governor, leading strategy for a statewide race. Throughout her career, she has advised candidates, worked alongside some of the state’s most influential labor organizations and helped advance major legislative and policy victories for nurses, educators, working families and Armenian American communities.
Astine has built her career on relationships and the belief that the right strategy can turn shared goals into real change. Through Capitol A Strategies, she brings everything she has learned over the past 20 years to clients who share her passion for building power, winning elections and improving people’s lives.
Her work has earned recognition throughout her career. In 2025, Helping Empowered Individuals Reach Success Political Action Committee (HEIRSPAC) named her Political Consultant of the Year. In 2022, she was honored at the Armenian National Committee of America Western Region Annual Gala for her work advancing Armenian Genocide education in California schools. She was also recognized as Armenian American Champion of the Year at the Vardivar Festival in 2017.
